Story: Aida is a master of illusions. She tends to drift among people who are awake, but also weakened -- dehydrated, exhausted, or on medication. Her close presence stirs up hallucinations. After (if?) the person manages to see past the hallucination, they feel disoriented and dizzy. This is a result of Aida stealing a portion of the person's blood while they were "not all there".
Why does she consume blood? She is an unfinished creature, who seeks to fill in the missing parts with what she thinks is missing. She has no organs, her body is like an empty shell. So she does not feel like she is alive. She tries to fill herself with blood to become "alive".
When she is near you, sometimes you can hear a high pitched sound...her glumness and longing to "live" makes her emit that whining sound from her throat. You may also hear a dripping sound. Is it a faucet? Maybe. But it could also be the sound of the blood she has consumed, slowly dripping in her empty body cavity. Human beings cannot see her, only other unicorns and dream creatures can. No visible wounds remain after her feeding. Her nails have anesthetic and healing properties that keep her meddling a secret from humans. She draws blood into her arm bones by absorbing it through her nails. Her bones turn from white to black as they seep with blood. Associated Characters: :thumb269623075:
Oh dear, she's so creepy and cute at the same time. I will make sure not to become weakened again, because I'm pretty sure she has already visited me before. Though, if she takes blood, the one she takes it from probably becomes colder as well, because of the bloodloss.
I'm glad I make sense for once. Speaking of which; would daydreams, in this universe look the same as normal dreams, or would they be different. And would Seine collect daydreams, too, or just regular "nightdreams"?
Oh! Day dreams are also collected by unicorns but that's a separate shift than the ones Seine works. She handles night shifts and collects night dreams :3 The Daydreams are more delicate than Nightdreams. So even if they get delivered, a person might wake up before they can enjoy it! XD They (the daydreams)aren't strong enough to keep a person asleep for a very long time~
Oh, I see. But you're not techinically asleep when you daydream, are you? I would suppose that those unicorns are ivisible to us, because I daydream all the time, and I've never seen one. I'm going to feel like an annoying person for asking more questions, but are there only Alicorns and Unicorns? What about pegasi? What do they do? I'm asking too much, aren't I?
yeah not true sleep...so maybe the daydreams just fill your head while you're just zoning out~ ^^ Yeah all the unicorns etc are invisible~~ ^u^ I wanted to make a story that would explain subconscious things that we don't really control (well, the brain has a role in it but..supposing it was the work of something more magical XD) Yeah, there are pegasi too! ^^ They are some of the Nightmare wranglers and Dream catchers too~ ^^ I just haven't made any as my OCs
and no worries! I love when I get questions because it prompts me to think about the story more
You should write it; it sounds like it would be really interesting to read. I'd read it, if anyone, though I read practically anything, so I don't know if that's really much to go on. >.> The brain is pretty amazing, so it being assisted by something magical wouldn't actually be that far-fetched in my opinion. I just felt like I had to ask about pegasi. I'm ridiculously fond of magical horses, and especially pegasi, for some reason. It's because of the wings, I think... I'd totally be a pegasus, just saying. That's a relief, people usually get annoyed when I ask too many questions about something. The story interests me, so of course I want to know more. Though I would also like to get to know what kind of personalities Seine and the others have. To me, Ceros seems more careful than Seine, who appears a bit more, in lack of a good word, ditzy. Am I wrong in believing that? Oh! And do daydreams have the same colour as "nightdreams", or do they look different? Since blue is a kind of night-y colour to me, I kind of found it right for nightdreams. What colour would daydreams be? Just how does the travelling between worlds mentioned... somewhere work? And how do the dreams actually come to "life", if I can call it that? Gosh, so many questions...
Ahh! Thanks! * 7* I'm so glad you like the story, and yeah! That's how I imagine their personalities to be! ^^ I feel like daydreams are golden yellow~~ Like, a spot of sunshine. Cx Hmm, I had imagined the subconcious and concious worlds to be parallel such that they overlap each other and exist in the same place at the same time. The unicorns can enter either world by will alone. And the longer one stays in the subconcious world, the more it morphs into more of a magical world (but it resets to match with the concious (what you and I see) world when they exit the subconscious one) So for example of how the world changes..., you asked about how the dreams come to life. They are bundles of energy (electrical? :3) that form deep in the subconcious world. The reason why it takes us a while to dream is because the unicorns need to spend more time in the subconcious world before it changes enough for these little craters to form. And from each crater, the dreams just fly out of them and fade away after they've run out of energy from moving about. On average a person has about 5-6 dreams a night, so unicorns need to collect a lot of them before they go deliver dreams to the humans. Now I'm stuck. I was coming up with stuff as I typed but ahhhh...ok. How would the unicorns get back to the dreamers if the subconcious world has warped while they were in it? I guess they gotta make a brief visit to the concious world, make sure people are still sleeping and resetting the sub con world, and then jump back into the sub con to give a few dream butterflies to each person.
Daydreams, on the other hand, are abundant and easy to find during the day. They have very little energy, and thus don't last long when delivered. A daytime unicorn can easily catch a daydream in the sub con world and stick it in a person's mind as they lose focus on what they're doing. I think, since the job's so easy, new unicorns start their training as dreamcatchers in the day. Unicorns would have families and babies too...I'm not sure how long their lifespans are....maybe short. I'll say they only live til age 30 (human years). A unicorn would spend 5 years in training and about 15 years as a night time dreamcatcher. The first 5 years as a child, are spent exploring both worlds. And the last 5 are spent at work or in a new family...q w q And usually unicorns have 1 sibling. But they might never meet each other because they're exploring the worlds on their own. I takes them about 1 month after birth to be a small sized unicorn and independent to fend for themselves.
ohhh Oni-chan is a cute nickname! ; v ; haha then it'd better be "onee-chan" instead >w< Oni-nee haha that's sweeter amg this is somehow strange how a person you've been talking for a few minutes calls your Oni-nee, sorry OTL
Ahhh then I'll call you Oni-nee from now on if you don't mind! ; 7 ; You can call me whatever you like~! I think most of the people don't mind if they're given a nickname! I personally really like it! :3
