I'm not trying to complain but I felt like I needed to address it, are chibi pics all you're going to be doing? Some of us still do appreciate your normal styled artwork or non-chibi to be more specific.
Thanks! Sorry for the lack of nonchibi lately, I haven't had the time for much personal artlately, so I have to get my commissioned chibies done first. I have 2 more chibies for commisions and then I'll be free yo work on some more detailed pics : ) i have some LOZ comics lined up as well ^__^
Such a cute character! I had an intense art block that lasted years and am coming back to use SAI instead of Photoshop. Still trying to get the hang of brush settings and all that. Thank you for the guide!
For the masking layer, you will have to use the mahic wand tool to select the space outside your lineart. click ctrl on the keyboard and use your tablet or mouse to click all those spaces
whEn you are done, go to the menu and click selection, and then click Increment. Next, go to the menu again, and selection, then click on Invert.
This should highlight the space INSIDE your lineart :3
Click ctrl and F on the keynoard to fill in that space with a colour (or white if you prefer that)
You can use a brush to colour in any space that was missed by the selection. basiCally, you want everything that is inside the lineart to be coloured in.
This coloured space layer is your masking layer ^__^
The next step is to make a folder above the masking layer. You just click the folder picture in the layers box, to do that. while the folder is highlighted in the layers box, click on 'clipping group' so the contents of the folder will stay inside the boundaries of the masking layer underneath it. yOu can click on this folder layer and then click the button to make a new layer. you can colour iT as messy as you like and it will never go outside the masking layer! ^^ Make as many layerS as you like for colouring
